The Wilmington Police Department is currently searching for a female driver who purposely struck a pedestrian with her car and then drove away on February 6.

The victim in the video told police she was walking back from the store with an acquaintance when a horn started honking and the man she was with jumped out of the way of a car just before 10:00 a.m.

The driver is seen purposely swerving off the road to hit the pedestrians.

The pedestrian who was hit was struck on her right hip, which launched her into the air before she landed on her left side. She suffered multiple injuries.

The male pedestrian ran off the scene before officers arrived and did not return to give any information, police believe he and the suspect driving the car know each other.

Police say they are searching for the driver who was described as a light skinned black female, between 25 and 30 years old.
